Final Furlong We list any Thoroughbreds that have raced that are in need of a second career. This is a free service offered for horses in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Final Furlong is a Manitoba-based non-profit that works toward finding new homes for retired racehorses and pony horses, and advocates for the Thoroughbred breed. We will list any Thoroughbreds that have raced that are in need of a second career, and/or new homes. Listings are updated weekly during the race season at Assiniboia Downs, and we will post courtesy listings during non-peak times.

“Pepper” is a 3 yr old filly standing 14’3. She is small but mighty and has a fun personality. She has been raced very lightly with only 3 starts and is looking for a new career. Pepper will require no down time, she is fit , sound and ready to start something new. She is very smart and extremely athletic. She is up to date on everything- farrier, teeth, deworming, vaccines and coggins. Pepper does well being stalled, on turnout or outside 24/7. She is priced at $3500.00 but will entertain offers. Noble Escape - 3 year old gelding sticked at 17.2.
This huge gelding is sound, and was well behaved when we saw him. He does make some noise when working, but this shouldn't affect him outside of a racing career. Was galloping 2 miles easily this spring. Due to his size the trainer has brought him along slowly.

Bizness Tycoon - 3 yr old gelding, 16.0 to 16.

Trainer says this youngster is "sound, sound, sound". He is fit and ready to go, and showed us a lot of movement. It can be difficult to see on the tight area between the barns, but we tried our best.
