Springfield Horse Community Promoting equine interests in Springfield, Manitoba

Our vision:
1) To have the area surrounding Birds Hill Provincial Park (BHPP) designated as a Horse Community, and to support that designation with community signage and public education.
2) To have Horse Trails leading to the park included in the Active Transportation section of the RM of Springfield’s Transportation plan.

Community members, PLEASE take a minute to fill out the Manitoba Horse Council survey regarding the Manitoba Mountain Biking Association's proposal to create jumps, dedicated trails and a 40 car parking lot within our Birds Hill Park riding trails area.

Encourage your fellow riders to do the same.
There's power in numbers!

Calling all riders and their trusty mounts!!

Fred Gutoski, who organizes Chicken Daze parade, has reached out to the Springfield Horse Community committee. Although there will not be afloat this year, Fred.would like to see a strong horse and rider presence in the parade.

The parade begins at 10:30 on Saturday, May 30.

Fred has asked that people arrive at the parade site (east of the Co-op gas station) by 10:00. You can either park your trailer on Spruce Road between Oakwood and Springfield, and ride to the parade site, or trailer to the RM municipal office parking lot.

Please message Sharon Corr by Thursday, May 28 to confirm if you plan on riding in the parade so she can get back to Fred with numbers.

Let’s make sure the Springfield Horse Community is well represented in the parade!

Attention all!

Springfield Horse Community has recently met with a representative of Manitoba Mountain Bike Association regarding their proposal to build mountain bike trails and a technical course in the NE corner of Birds Hill Park.

We have sent them a letter expressing our concerns about the safety hazards between bikes and horses and advocating to save the equestrian designated trails.

We encourage other equestrian groups to reach out to them as well and share your concerns!

If you have questions, please contact us here or by email at [email protected].

Check this out! What a great idea. Championed by Springfield's very own Northern Gates farm I believe.

Hi folks, a community member is sadly having to bury 2 horses. 2 miles east of 206, close to Birds Hill Park.

Any suggestions for someone to do this work?

Wayne is unable to at this time.

Thank you!
