Update #2 - On August 30, 2025, Stonewall RCMP received information that a cat crate, with Campbell’s last name on it, was located in a bush area located in a field approximately three kilometres southwest of Springstein.

RCMP Search and Rescue, along with volunteers with Winnipeg Search and Rescue, attended to the area and conducted a ground search.

On September 1, 2025, the missing 69-year-old male was located deceased.

Our thoughts are with the man’s family, friends, and community at this time.

Stonewall RCMP continue to investigate.

Update # 1 - The Manitoba RCMP continues to search for Stewart Campbell, a 69-year-old male who was reported missing on July 17, 2025.

At approximately 10:30am, on July 24, 2025, Manitoba RCMP officers were notified that his vehicle had been located on Road 3 West, 500 meters north of Highway 2 in the Rural Municipality of MacDonald. Stewart was not with his vehicle.

A ground search by the RCMP’s Search and Rescue Unit is ongoing and an aerial search of the area has already been conducted by the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA).

Residents who may have property in the area where the vehicle was located are asked to check their property, including out-buildings, as well as all security cameras for any signs of the missing male.

If anyone has information on his whereabouts, please call 911 or Stonewall RCMP at 204-467-5015.

The investigation continues.

SILVER ALERT - On July 17, at 1:17 pm, Stonewall RCMP received a report of a missing 69-year-old male.

Stewart Campbell was last seen at approximately 3:30 am on July 15, 2025, near Stonewall. His whereabouts are unknown.

Stewart may be confused and disoriented. The RCMP is concerned for his wellbeing.

Stewart is approximately 5’8” tall, 110 lbs with grey shaggy hair, blue eyes and clean shaven.

He was last seen wearing a burgundy sweatshirt, light coloured blue jeans and black work boots.

Stewart is possibly driving a blue 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix with Manitoba license plate HET 278.

On July 7, 2025, at approximately 9:00 am, Carman RCMP received a report of a stolen windmill off a property located in the RM of Grey.

It is believed the windmill was stolen sometime between July 4, 2025 and July 6, 2025.

Due to the nature of the sheer size of the stolen property, RCMP believe someone in the area may have seen something.

The windmill is 25 feet high, with a 6 foot blade and is silver in colour.
