The Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario (SCAGO) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals living with sickle cell disease and their families. Founded in 2005, SCAGO works to bridge gaps in healthcare, foster inclusive community support, and advocate for systemic change that ensures equitable care and resources for sickle cell warriors. Through educatio

n, public awareness, and policy advocacy, we empower patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to make informed decisions and drive progress. We collaborate with healthcare providers, researchers, policymakers, and diverse communities to advance knowledge, champion equity, and amplify the voices of those affected by sickle cell disease in Ontario. Our focus areas:

• Policy change for equitable healthcare
