I walked into Jubilee this week with shaky hands and a full heart. I’m on Day 3 of my 7-week ECA placement, with 9 months of college left. I’m not just learning fire exits and art supplies. I’m learning how to protect the children of mothers who remind me of you, how to see a hungry child and know what to do, and how to be the safe adult I wish every woman and child had.
GKJM Mission Hope was born from my own nights without help, and my promise to God: If you get me through this, I’ll spend my life giving that hope to someone else. To the 136 of you who joined us last month — you told a student with doubt that her mission matters. You told a mom scrolling at midnight she isn’t forgotten. You told a waiting child that someone is fighting for them. Your follow is a vote that women and children in Toronto deserve safety, dignity, and a chance.
For 7 weeks I’m a student at the daycare, and for 9 months I’m building the skills your trust deserves. Every lesson goes straight back to them. I’m learning for them. I’m building for them. I won’t stop. If you’ve ever felt unseen — this mission is for you too. Stay with me.
With all my heart,
Hadja Maï, President & Founder
