✨ Congratulations to the 2026 Chatham-Kent Black Excellence Awards Recipients! ✨

We are proud to celebrate this year’s outstanding individuals and organizations who continue to uplift, inspire, and lead within our community. Their dedication, resilience, and impact reflect the very best of Black excellence in Chatham-Kent.

This year’s recipients were carefully selected by a dedicated Selection Committee who thoughtfully reviewed each nomination with care, intention, and a deep respect for the stories shared. We extend our sincere gratitude to the committee for their time, insight, and commitment to ensuring a fair and meaningful process.

We also want to recognize every single nominee. Each nomination represents a story of impact, leadership, and service within our community. While only one recipient is selected per category, every nominee is deserving of recognition and celebration. Your contributions do not go unnoticed, and your work continues to make Chatham-Kent stronger.

The North Buxton Community Bursary is geared to assist students in Full- Time, post-secondary schooling and skilled trades programs. Community members, groups, and clubs in North Buxton contributed funds to aid students financially on their road to success! It truly takes a village, and we are privileged to have the opportunity to support our youth.

The North Buxton Community Bursary is now open for 2026 applications. The bursary will be awarded to applicants who have ties to the North Buxton community, through having lived in North Buxton or having an ancestor, close relative, or family member who is or was from our community.
The deadline for bursary applications will be May 10th, 2026 and successful applicants will be contacted by June 15, 2026.
If you would like to support the educational pursuits of the youth of the North Buxton community, donations toward the bursary are welcome and appreciated.

Today is a time to honour the women who lead, inspire, nurture, and create change in our communities. We recognize the mothers, daughters, educators, leaders, and trailblazers, past and present, whose courage and determination have helped shape a better future.

Today and every day, we celebrate the voices, contributions, and leadership of women.

Mark this on your calendar!!!! We are so excited to host our Annual Buxton Community Easter Egg hunt!! Join us Saturday, April 4th at 10:30am sharp for 3 Age Group hunts!!! Huge Thanks to our Co- Presenters Once Upon A Child - Windsor, Ontario, & Good Things Grow CK! We are also going to be raffling off 3 bikes for each age group!!!! And, this is YOUR chance to have pictures taken with the Easter Bunny!! 🐰

A few things to note:
- This is a rain or shine event, so please dress accordingly
- Please remember to bring a basket or bag to collect your eggs. These will be returned to the "egg exchange" after collection and each participant will then receive a door prize ticket and a goodie bag
- Hunts for each of the 3 age groups start PROMPTLY at 10:30am
