COOL Pictures COOL Pictures is a non-profit film Production Company. Run by Friends, Family, and Volunteers. Scott Coolich is the Founder and Producer of COOL Pictures.

Scott received a Sony Hi8 video camcorder as a gift in 1996. a relative suggested that they make a STAR TREK spoof, and Scott's first film was born. Scott made a few films editing on VHS, at that time Cool Pictures was under a different production company name. Then Scott stopped making films and several years would pass, until one day that same relative suggested Scott get back into filming and p

rovided Scott with a computer editing program. That's when Cool Pictures was formed. Since Scott started making films in 1996, we say the production company has been around since then. This is a picture of a Sand People's vehicle on the Set of the original STAR WARS.
They actually built half the vehicle to scale so it actually looks like the actors are standing next to vehicle instead of just using CGI.

George Lucas knew when to use real sets, when to use models, and when to use CGI.
He just didn't use CGI for his whole movie.

George Lucas was a master at this and he knew when to use each technique.
Film is about making the scene look as real as possible, not just using CGI to save money on your film budget.
