May 10th is Bear Witness Day šŸ§øšŸ’™

In honour of Jordan’s Principle, today we take a moment to reflect, to learn, and to stand as a witness for First Nations children and their right to fair access to services.

Bear Witness Day reminds us of Jordan River Anderson and the ongoing importance of ensuring that no child is denied or delayed the care they need because of jurisdictional disputes. Every child deserves to grow up healthy, supported, and surrounded by opportunity.

Today, We stand with families, communities, and advocates who continue this work every day. We will listen, learn, and use my voice to support fairness and equity for all children.

Today, on Autism Awareness Day, we want to take a moment to celebrate the beautiful diversity of minds in our world. šŸ’™

Let’s choose kindness, patience, and acceptance. Let’s listen, learn, and support. And most importantly, let’s create a world where everyone feels seen, valued, and included for exactly who they are.

Thank you SaskTel North Battleford for allowing us to participate.

Today we remember Jordan River Anderson with love.
A sweet child whose life, though short, changed so much.

Jordan’s story reminds us to lead with kindness, to put children first, and to care for one another without hesitation. His legacy lives on in the compassion and action inspired by Jordan’s Principle.

Thinking of Jordan today, and holding space for hope, love, and better days ahead. 🧔

Huge thank you to Mistahi Sipiy Elementary School in Big River First Nation for inviting us to their family fun night on November 25th! 🤩 We had so much fun and hardly got any picturesšŸ™ˆ

We were able to have our first Northern Project event focused on Potty Training! Families were able to "build-your-own" kits.

Our Northern Project is a pilot project that aims to bring new and exciting programs and resources to our Northern Communities that we serve!😁

Stay tuned for our next event!

Jordan was born in 1999 with multiple disabilities and stayed in the hospital from birth.

When he was 2 years old, doctors said he could move to a special home for his medical needs. However, the federal and provincial governments could not agree on who should pay for his home-based care.

Jordan stayed in the hospital until he passed away at the age of 5.

In 2007, the House of Commons passed Jordan's Principle in memory of Jordan. It was a commitment that First Nations children would get the products, services and supports they need, when they need them. Payments would be worked out later.

Today, Jordan's Principle is a legal obligation, which means it has no end date. While programs and initiatives to support it may only exist for short periods of time, Jordan's Principle will always be there. Jordan's Principle will support First Nations children for generations to come.

This is the legacy of Jordan River Anderson.
