Canada Safety Council Home Alone course, in partnership with St John Ambulance, is coming back to the Club! This program will be for youth ages 9-11 and date eill be determined once spots are filled.

Our Executive Director Karla is certified to train our youth in the Home Alone course. There will be limited spots available on a first come first serve basis. The fee will only be $5 per youth to reserve their spot and cover the cost for lunch, as we have received generous funding from the Grants to Youth Organizations program to cover the materials, supplies and certificates.

🌿 Join Us for National Indigenous Peoples Day 2026! 🌿
This year, the Lnu'skwaq Association of Central Newfoundland will be celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Heritage Centre in Norris Arm.

While National Indigenous Peoples Day is officially recognized on June 21, we have chosen to hold our celebration on June 20 in recognition of Father's Day, allowing families the opportunity to spend time together on Sunday while still joining us to celebrate Indigenous culture, community, and connection.

Sports at school on Wednesday for all ages, and we will have study hall on Thursday evening at the Club. Tutors will be available to help students preparing for final exams.

For those who are interested, the Home Alone course will be going ahead the following week, please watch our Facebook group for an updated post if you are still interested in joining. Ages 9-12 are welcomed to register!

Lastly, a HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated so far for our annual Splash N Putt trip. As of today, we have received over $1200 in donations from individuals in the community, which is absolutely amazing! Please keep the donations coming so we can make this trip absolutely amazing for our members 💚

Today, we’re celebrating more than 125 years of BGC Canada and the incredible impact of BGC Clubs nationwide!

As Canada’s largest child and youth serving charitable and community services organization, BGC Clubs can be found in more than 600 communities across the country—providing places of belonging, life-changing opportunities, and authentic connections for young people.

We had an awesome day here in Norris Arm, a big thank you to all who attended and brought food, and a special thank you to our MHA, Minister Pleaman Forsey for visiting our Club. He is a strong advocate for Clubs, our community, and our region. Another big thank you to Ray Garnier and Jim Bryan as our musical entertainment, they were awesome! We are grateful!

BGC Norris Arm is excited to announce that we are once again planning our annual Splash 'n' Putt summer trip for our members! 😀 Thanks to the incredible generosity of our local businesses and community, we raised almost $2000 last year, helping make this memorable experience more accessible and affordable for local children and youth. 🎉

This year, our goal is to reach or exceed that amount and hopefully make the trip as close to free as possible for every registered member who wishes to attend! The total cost is approximately $4000-4500 for 60 children and youth, depending on bus costs and ticket prices each year. The trip costs include transportation to and from Splash 'n' Putt, admission passes, waterslide, rides, meals, healthy snacks, and water/drinks for the day. It truly is the highlight of the summer for many of our children and youth.

We are proud to share that our fundraising campaign is already off to a great start with a generous donation of $500 from the New Horizons Seniors Program group at the Club 👏🙌 They will continue donating weekly until July 1st and whatever they have collected will be donated to support the costs of this trip. We love seeing local seniors helping local youth, It does the heart good. Thank you all 💚

Throughout the month of June, we will be accepting donations from individuals, businesses, and anyone in the community and beyond who wishes to support this trip. Donations can be made by e-transfer to the Boys and Girls Club of Norris Arm, or dropped off in person at the Club.
A tax receipt will be issued for any donation over $20. Our email for auto deposit emt is [email protected]

Registration details and final trip costs will be announced in July. Thank you to everyone who continues to support our youth and help create opportunities, memories, and experiences that will last a lifetime. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference!
