As we enter the last 24 hours of our auction, we wanted to make sure you knew about proxy voting! Proxy voting allows you to continue voting on your favourite item without being glued to your phone watching the bidding.

All the details about proxy bidding are here:

A proxy bid allows you to enter the maximum amount you're willing to spend with the goal of winning the item at the lowest possible price. The system will bid for you, up to your maximum proxy bid amount, as additional bids are entered on the item.

To enter a proxy bid, enter your maximum bid amount, click the Proxy Bid button, and then submit your bid. If you don't see the Proxy Bid button, the auction administrator has turned off this option.

Nipigon evening events update at the Legion.

Well, we still have the Legion booked until 11pm tonight, so we will certainly be hanging out there this evening and try to make the most of the unfortunate circumstances! Doors will open at 5:30pm, so come join us for a good ol' fashioned ice fest hangout! We will still be hosting some fun games, mingling together, coming up with plans for tomorrow, and holding the ice fest gear raffle as an online auction. We lost a few of our presentation panelists, however we will still try to have our panel discussion as planned with the folks who are in Nipigon with us here! As a backup, or in addition, Aric has a presentation ready to go just in case as well. Come celebrate with us!

For those of you stuck in Tbay here are all the details you need to know!

- Go hang out at Rock Room from 4 - 10pm
- Wilderness Supply has donated snacks and refreshments for everyone
- You will be able to view a selection of our gear auction prizes and we will have ice fest volunteers available to help you navigate the auction website!
- Games prizes!

Everyone is welcome to attend, but displaced Ice Fest Participants qualify for a discount! Ask for Mike when you arrive to receive your discounted Ice Fest day pass!

Displaced Ice Fest Participants receive a half price Day Pass
Ice Fest Participants who donated their registration and equipment rental fees receive a free day pass
*free and discounted passes only valid from 4 - 10pm on March 7th

Important Update: Ice Fest Climbing Clinics Cancelled due to Icy Conditions 😭

Well... this is an incredibly sad post to be writing, but unfortunately all of the highways are closed this morning, and we are forced to make the decision that the climbing clinics are cancelled since we simply can't get to any of the climbing locations. We will post another update shortly with more info, and be sending out emails to each clinic participant regarding refunds.

On a more positive note, we still have the Nipigon Legion rented out until 11pm tonight, so we are planning to still go ahead with our evening events. Come on down to the Legion if you're already in Nipigon, or planning to come once the highways open back up this afternoon! We are at the Legion right now hanging out, so come on by of you are in Nipigon.

I'll post another update here shortly about our gameplan for the rest of the day, and also about alternative plans/events... so keep your eyes open here on the Facebook/Instagram pages!

Tomorrow, on Friday March 6th in the evening climbers can mingle at ‘The China Gardens’ at 30 Front St, or at ‘The Place’ at 147 Railway St, or at 'The Royal Canadian Legion' at 102 5th Street. This is not an Ice Fest event specifically, these are just locations where people can mingle tomorrow evening. The ‘China Gardens' is a restaurant/bar with pool tables, and ‘The Place’ is a new establishment in Nipigon with vintage games, virtual golf, zombie dodge ball, a coin operated pool table, juke box, free board games, cold treats and hot food to curb your hunger. At the Nipigon Legion there will be a live band playing starting at 8pm. So we see you at either The China Gardens, The Place, or The Legion!

China Gardens – 30 Front Street  (open 11:00am - 1:00am)

The Place – 147 Railway Street (open 12:00pm - 9:00pm)

The Legion - 102 5th Street (open 8:00pm - 12:00am)
