This past Saturday, October 18, Nipawin Masons celebrated our100th anniversary in Nipawin. Our lodge formed the same year as the Town of Nipawin. Masons from lodges in Elfros, Tisdale, Melfort and Prince Alberrt attended along with a special visit from our Provincial Grand Master, Troy LeBlanc who brought greetings from the Provincial Grand Line. All present enjoyed a great lunch followed by a Lodge meeting. Mayor Marlon Zacharias was a guest at the lunch and presented our lodge with a Certificate recognizing our 100 years in the community.

On Thursday October 16, Nipawin Masons once again recognized academic achievement at L.P. Miller high school in Nipawin. Book awards were provided to two grade 10 students who were tied for top marks. Seen below, Mason Linden Lundback is presenting Taya Snorro and Rachel Nickelfork with their awards (due to the tie and having the usual only 1 award, the second award will be presented a bit later once it arrives). Congratulations to Taya and Rachel on their achievements and we wish them the best in their future endeavours.

Hope you saw us in the Nipawin Parade where we along with the town of Nipawin were both celebrating 100 years in the community. A number of our members back in 1925 helped get the town going and Masons have been helping support the town ever since. Masons as a fraternity are not a service group, but we do extend our thanks to all the service groups who do so much to support Nipawin and all the towns across Canada.

100 years in Nipawin. Yes, the Nipawin Masons started up officially in Nipawin the same year the Nipawin was founded in it's present location. We will be celebrating along with the Town of Nipawin. Look for our float in the upcoming parade in July.
