There are 3.3 million unpaid caregivers in Ontario. Many are dipping into their savings, taking time off work, or leaving their careers entirely to care for the people they love.

No one should have to choose between caring for a loved one and making ends meet.

That’s why I’ve reintroduced my Caring for Caregivers motion, calling on the provincial government to provide a direct financial benefit to unpaid caregivers. Even a modest benefit, like the one offered in Nova Scotia, could make a real difference for families while helping reduce pressure on our health care and long-term care systems.

This motion has earned cross-party support, with one exception: the Conservative government.

Caregivers show up for their loved ones every single day. It's time the government showed up for them.
