A day in the life at Scout Camp...

THANK YOU!!!!

Today, our scouts were taught a lesson in hard work and a supportive community.

We want to sincerely thank Steve and the entire team at Zehrs on Morrison Street for giving us the opportunity, the space, and the support to host this event. Community partnerships like this make a huge difference for youth programs like ours, and we are very grateful.

We also want to thank every person who stopped by to grab a burger, make a donation, chat with our Scouts, or show their support in any way throughout the day. Your generosity was outstanding. In fact, the support we received meant we were able to raise over DOUBLE what we had originally expected from this fundraiser.

Because of today’s efforts - along with the many ways this community has supported the 1st Niagara Scout Group throughout the year - over three quarters of the total cost of camp for these Scouts has now been covered through fundraising and community support. This has made a significant difference for families, greatly reducing what they would otherwise need to contribute.

This event was also a major learning experience for our Scouts. This was their first attempt at a BBQ fundraiser. The youth helped prepare and make the burgers themselves, ran the barbecue, served the community, and managed donations throughout the day. They worked incredibly hard and took real ownership of the event. Like any first large fundraiser, there were lessons learned, and we are already reflecting on how we can improve and make next year even stronger.

Thank you again to everyone who supported us today. Your kindness, patience, and generosity mean a great deal to these Scouts and their families.

Tomorrow is BBQ day Zehrs and the Scouts are fired up!

The Scouts Canada Kids have been busy prepping the fun, getting ready to serve up homemade smash burgers and hot dogs (by donation) AND our Special Hali-Burgers in support of their trip to Haliburton Scout Reserve

Come hungry, bring your friends, and help send the 1st Niagara Scout to their week-long summer camp for an unforgettable outdoor adventure.

If you get a Hali-burger, you'll be in for a special treat Blast the Air-Horn and take a photo op.

Every burger helps fuel the journey!

We will see you tomorrow (Saturday) at Zehrs on Morrison.
