Inclusion Canada and Inclusion Alberta have issued a joint commentary regarding Medically assisted su***de.

We commend the Government of Alberta for recently introducing Bill 18. This proposed Legislation seeks a balance by scaling back assisted su***de while reserving access for individuals whose death is imminent. This was the original intent of the federal law in 2016 but was expanded in 2021 with a second pathway that blatantly discriminates against persons with disabilities.

As reinforced by the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities - Track 2 MAiD should be repealed now. It perpetuates dangerous, ableist assumptions that life with a disability is not worth living. Governments instead should provide individuals with disabilities with the supports needed to live a good life and not fall through the economic and social safety nets.

Thanks to the Calgary Herald and other media outlets for including the voice of Canada's disability community on this critically important issue

Real Inclusion vs. Just Being There
Being in the same place as other people is a start, but it is not enough. You can be in a classroom or a job and still feel left out. Real inclusion means being valued and having real friends. Stand with us as we ask for a world where we truly belong.
Our theme, , is a call to action to move past just "being there" and start truly including everyone in our communities.

In the first hours after a crime, the smallest things can make the biggest difference.

A soft blanket.
A sensory toy.
A grounding resource.
A meal.
A notebook to help tell their story.

Our Amazon Wish List is filled with crisis response tools our staff use to support children and youth in those first, overwhelming moments.

If youโ€™re looking for a meaningful way to give back, this is it.
