Recently, members and friends of the Zonta Clubs of Niagara Falls and St. Catharines gathered to put together life-saving clean 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗶𝘁𝘀 for women in underserved communities around the world.

In just a few hours, our group made up 619 kits that will be delivered through Not Just Tourists. Thank you so much to everyone that came out to help!! 👏💛

Huge congratulations to our club's 2026 winner of the Young Women in Leadership Award, Maiya! 🎉👏👏👏

This annual award recognizes young women with exemplary leadership skills and commitment to public service and civic causes.

It was such a pleasure to host Maiya and her mom at our most recent club meeting and hear more about her outstanding community involvement, impressive personal and educational accomplishments and her incredible passion and drive to build a better world for women and girls!

Today, on Red Dress Day, we honour and remember Missing and Murdered Indigenous women, girls, and two- spirit people.

Statistics are more than a number. They reflect real lives lost, families in mourning, and the systems which perpetuate the disproportionately high rate of violence against Indigenous people.

At Victim Services Niagara, we recognize the importance of this day as a time for reflection, awareness, and action. We remain committed to upholding the principles of Truth and Reconciliation by listening, learning, and working closely alongside Indigenous communities to support healing, safety and justice.

Today, May 5, we honour Red Dress Day, a day of awareness and remembrance for missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ people.

This day is inspired by the incredible work of Métis artist Jaime Black-Morsette's REDress project, an aesthetic response to the more than 1,000 missing and murdered Indigenous women across Canada.
