What if your anger wasn't something to fear—but something to listen to? Join us for 🔥Anger as Information: Reframing a Misunderstood Emotion🔥, a virtual workshop for women and femme survivors exploring how anger can be a powerful guide rather than something to suppress.

Together, we'll challenge the messages we've received about anger and learn to see it as valuable information—pointing us toward unmet needs, violated boundaries, and the truths that deserve our attention. Through reflection and discussion, we'll explore healthier ways to understand, honour, and respond to this important emotion.

Have you ever held back your voice to stay safe, avoid conflict, or keep the peace?

Join us for ✨ Unlearning Silence: Where Did I Learn Not to Speak?✨ — a powerful virtual workshop for women and femme survivors exploring the roots of silence, self-censorship, and the fear of speaking up.

Together, we'll reflect on the messages we received about using our voices, the consequences we experienced for speaking out, and how those experiences may still shape us today. Through guided reflection and compassionate discussion, we'll begin reclaiming the right to express ourselves with confidence and authenticity.

On July 23, 2026, Women’s Support Network of York Region proudly announced our new youth counselling program!

Funded by the Ontario Trillium Foundation, this short-term model provides six free individual sessions to survivors of sexual violence aged 12-25 AND free group counselling for femme-identifying individuals. We were pleased to host youth from all over York Region to participate in our inaugural Chalk Project installation led by The Chalk Queen of York Region Kim Egan who shared their images of strength and hope all around our office.

Newmarket-Aurora MPP Dawn Gallagher Murphy shared an inspiring message amongst local residents and community partners in support of WSN’s mission to eradicate sexual violence and support youth in York Region.

If you or someone you know are in need of support following an experience of sexual violence or even if you’re unsure if you experienced sexual violence, you can email [email protected] or call 1-800-263-6734 to learn more. WSN is an inclusive organization and we are committed to help York Region residents of all backgrounds through all stages of their journey.
