And so it continues, the process that the Colour Collective have been following for over two decades. Once a painting is finished, a new one is begun. Our artists control the subjects that they paint. They all have their individual passions. James Lash is focused on seascapes recently and Sangeeta Rekhi is always our expert at winter scenes. Dan Tell will always choose a landscape with houses. Bradley Merritt is becoming our resident whale expert, with pottery and paintings and Kaori Gokita loves mountains and forests. We can't define Geoffrey Lee's taste, he's the great experimenter. Look at these new beginnings ! http://www.colourcollective.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/

Here's a flashback for all of you, to 2022 and the most unique show we ever had. At the Plaskett Gallery, Massey Theatre, we exhibited a series of vignettes with our pottery and paintings displayed together. In a long room in the Gallery area, we filled glassed in display cases, with our work. It was a stunning way to show our work and how each piece could look in an actual home. Enjoy this look back ! http://www.colourcollective.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca

Snap Photo Squad couldn't wait to explore downtown Vancouver yesterday, to experience the FIFA World Cup preparations. They found the downtown area buzzing with activity, and some very interesting shots. FIFA fever has definitely hit Vancouver, and the Photo Squad captured it. Have a look at what they found. http://www.colourcollective.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.

Yesterdays Colour Collective studio was an energetic day of development for some and completion for others. James Lash is full of smiles, since he's finished his latest work and Bradley Merritt is pushing ahead with his Beluga painting. Dan Tell has two paintings developing at once, such dedication. Sangeeta Rehki is really producing gorgeous winter landscapes, three so far for Inclusion Art Show, and Geoffrey Lee is really on fire with a new variety of abstracts. http://www.colourcollective.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/

Over our 26 years in operation, we've witnessed many examples of the power of art, to transform lives. Behind the beautiful paintings and pottery, is an opportunity to develop focus and concentration, self discipline and self esteem. Many studies have shown the power of producing art to maintain brain function and in Dementia patients who were previously creative people, those skills are maintained. A case in point is Bradley Merritt, who as he grows creatively, at an incredible pace, is also learning important life skills. http://www.colourcollective.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/

Yesterday, Snap Photo Squad visited Surrey Art Centre, in Bear Creek Park and caught some great shots inside the art gallery and outside in the park. If you've never visited this Gallery, do yourself a favour and drop by. The photographers found some very interesting works, including a sculpture by one of our favourite people and a big supporter of our studio, Keith Rice Jones. Enjoy this trip through the gallery, courtesy of Snap Photo Squad. http://www.colourcollective.ca/ https://www.communitylivingsociety.ca/
