The call to build B.C.’s next ferries here at home is growing.

A coalition of 17 organizations representing more than 7,000 workers has launched the Build Them Here campaign, calling for future B.C. Ferries vessels to be built in B.C.

It’s time to invest in B.C. workers, B.C. shipyards and our maritime future.

BC Ferries should be built in BC.

At a time of global uncertainty, investing in good, local jobs matters more than ever. Yet BC Ferries recently chose to build four new major vessels in China instead of right here at home.

We believe BC Ferries should be built by BC workers, supporting BC communities and strengthening our economy.

It’s time to Build Them Here.

The BC Building Trades is proud to stand with over 15 unions calling on BC Ferries to build their next round of vessels here in BC. British Columbians deserve good jobs and ferries that work when they need them, not months of delays. Our shipbuilders are among the best in the world and are ready to bring ferry construction home.

Whether you're paving, or roofing, or up in the scaffolding, you know it's hot out there and every construction worker should know their rights. Employers have an obligation to protect workers from the heat. We're calling for real measures to keep workers safe in these conditions. Our Executive Director, Brynn Bourke, spoke about the need for better provisions in the Vancouver Sun.

"Climate change is changing the environment where construction workers are working, and we need to make sure that everyone has the tools to keep workers safe."

Justice delayed is justice denied. The families and workers affected by the Kelowna Crane Collapse have waited long enough. Add your voice to this important campaign by IUOE 115.

Five years have passed since the Kelowna crane collapse claimed the lives of five workers. Their families, friends, co-workers, and the construction industry are still waiting for answers. Help us call for timely justice by sending a message to the Attorney General of British Columbia. 5   Years Wa...

Our members have been working on the early construction works of the Massey Tunnel Replacement. This project will provide family-sustaining jobs for thousands of skilled trades workers and an essential new crossing for people and businesses across the region. The retendering of the final construction phase of the project will provide an opportunity for local contractors to participate in building this critical project and maximize the benefits to local communities.
