Today, HSA President Sarah Kooner took our members' priorities directly to the 2027 BC budget consultation in Victoria.

She made the case for three urgent investments: addressing critical shortages of specialized health professionals, retaining the health science and community social service professionals who keep our system running, and expanding supports for infants, children, and youth with support needs.

BC faces real fiscal challenges, but the cost of doing nothing, measured in cancelled surgeries, growing waitlists, untreated illness, and services disappearing from rural communities, is far too great to not act now.

The Nurses’ Bargaining Association (NBA) has reached a tentative agreement with the Health Employers Association of BC (HEABC) and is unanimously recommending ratification.

Be sure you get all the information you need to make an informed decision by taking part in an information meeting before voting opens on June 15.

It's World Orthoptic Day and we're recognizing HSA's orthoptics across the province! These healthcare heroes focus on the assessment, diagnosis, and non-surgical management of eye movement disorders, double vision, and issues with how the eyes work together, along with educating patients and contributing to valuable research.
