Unifor Local VCTA represents container truckers working out of Port Metro Vancouver (PMV). Our Union represents the largest number of container truckers in Vancouver. Unifor Local VCTA originally formed as the Vancouver Container Truckers Association. We believe in the power of collective bargaining and building strength for container truckers through a strong union Unifor, the largest private sector union in Canada with over 300,000 members.

I have personally worked with many BC NDP MLA’s over the years and, unlike other parties, they actually care about workers and visit with us regularly to learn about the concerns and to bring solidarity.

My friend BC Labour Minister Harry Bains is retiring but the incredible Raj Chouhan is running again along with Janet Routledge and Jennifer Whiteside. All of them have gone above and beyond to be a friend and ally to working people and I am proud to offer my personal endorsement for each of them and urge everyone to elect a BC NDP candidate in whatever riding you live in.

Good luck to everyone and looking forward to continuing our work improving the lives of working people after you are all re-elected tomorrow! Let’s do this!

It was great to get out in advance of tonight’s BC election debate by supporting Unifor Local 111 member Jason McCormick who is proudly running for the BCNDP in Delta South.

This is a straight up race between Jason McCormick and Ian Paton who used to be an MLA for BC United. Ian Paton quickly folded up his tent and ran for the BC Conservatives after the business community gave its marching orders to its puppet candidates. The voters of Delta South aren’t that extreme.

Jason is a solid choice for voters in Delta South and we are proud to support a fellow Unifor member! Solidarity Jason and now over to David Eby to win this debate tonight!
