👋 Introducing the Park Liaison Officer (PLO) Program!

🌳 PLOs are here to help address concerns in City of New Westminster parks. During the early days, you’ll likely see them patrolling Westminster Pier Park and the Riverfront, but you will also see them at other parks around the City.

🤝 Connect with a PLO when you see something that is not an emergency and prevents everyone from enjoying our parks safely. Examples include:

•Vandalism
•Nuisance behavior

You can reach out to PLOs through one of two ways:

•By phone: 604-527-4643—this phone line is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week;
•By email: [email protected]. This email address is monitored 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays.

A reminder to please call 9-1-1 when:

•There is an immediate threat to someone’s life
•There is an active crime in progress
•You see open burning

Great Grandmother Tree and Spiral to the Sky are two temporary public art installations located along New Westminster’s Riverfront Esplanade. This project is led by Nlaka’pamux curator Nadine Spence along with xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) advisor Mary Point, and supported by the Sacred Rock Community Society.

The installations will remain in place through National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30), offering space for reflection. Opportunities to meet the curator will be available during the New West Cultural Crawl (October 4–5).

Last week the Quayside Community Board hosted Connect at the Quay — an evening designed to bring neighbours together. The energy in the room was inspiring as more than 60 people shared ideas, built connections, and celebrated what makes our community special.

A huge thank you to Dehls Gourmet who generously hosted us with a warm atmosphere and amazing food.
