Teamwork & Friendship Bracelets! 🐝🦋

Today’s meeting was all about teamwork and connection! The girls split into their patrols and tackled the classic "human knot" activity. Standing in a circle, they reached across to grab hands with two different girls and worked together to untangle themselves without letting go—all while sharing plenty of laughs, building trust, and practicing communication.

Afterward, each patrol worked together to design and create their own custom bracelets, collaborating on patterns that represent their team spirit.

During today's drive-up sale, the girls successfully sold their mint cookies while building practical skills. They practiced salesmanship, handled money and calculations to strengthen their math skills, selected patrol names with Dragonfly, and enjoyed an origami session with Butterfly. Great job Sparks, Embers and Guides 💙

It’s Fire Prevention Week, and our 1st New Ross Sparks, Embers, and Guides had an extra special meeting tonight! 🚒🔥

A huge thank you to Captain Reeves and Firefighter Emma Leigh from the New Ross Volunteer Fire Department for dropping by to share some vital fire safety tips with our girls.

The girls learned all about home safety, asked some fantastic questions, and—the absolute highlight of the afternoon—they got to explore the fire truck inside and out!

We are so grateful to our local fire department for taking the time to teach and inspire our unit. Thank you for all you do for our community! 👏❤️

We had a successful morning selling cookies at both of our events today! 🍪

New Ross Farm: Leaders Butterfly, Firefly, and Bumblebee supported Lexi, Gracie, and Elizabeth as they sold to marathon runners at the covered picnic table.

Vaughan Craft Fair: Leader Dragonfly and Freya took care of all the craft fair visitors.

Good evening New Ross Girl Guide Families!

We have signed our unit up for two different cookie sales THIS SATURDAY (October 3rd) and we are looking for some girls who would like to sign up! 🍪 Spots will be filled on a first-reply basis!

The first option is at the New Ross Farm!
We will be selling cookies to the marathon runners at the covered picnic table!

The second option is the Craft Fair in Vaughan!
We will be setting up a table at the craft fair!

Side by side, every step of the way! Guiding is built on sisterhood—cheering each other on, lifting each other up, and making sure no one stands alone.

What a fantastic meeting today! Our unit is officially growing, and we couldn’t be more excited.

We welcomed several new faces this afternoon—we’re so grateful for our new friends and had a wonderful time getting to know each other better.

Everyone is loving our new space in the school, especially having access to the gym and so much extra room this year!

We kicked off with an active game based on our promises. The girls split into their groups—Guides, Embers, and Sparks—and raced to gather sentences to build and recite their promises together.

Afterward, we headed to the home economics room for a fun sensory activity, guessing different scents ranging from coffee to oranges.

Before heading home, everyone received a Guiding Bingo Card packed with all the exciting activities we have planned for the year!

How it works: As we complete activities during our meetings, girls can cross them off at home. Once they get a Bingo, they can bring their card back to a meeting for a special prize!

Cookie Reminder: Most girls should have received their cases of cookies by now. If you haven’t received yours yet, please reach out and let us know!
