A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our "Where Is It Now?" contest by sharing photos of the woodworking items you've purchased from Flower Cart Opportunities over the years!

Congratulations to our contest winner is Helen Harlow, who will be taking home one of our Yardzee games!

We truly appreciate those who took the time to submit pictures and share their stories. Seeing these items years later brought us a great deal of pride and reminded us of the meaningful connections our woodworking program has built throughout the community.

Happy Annapolis Valley Apple Blossom Festival from all of us at The Flower Cart Group!

Today we celebrate 93 years of a treasured community tradition that brings people together from across the Annapolis Valley and beyond.

The Apple Blossom Festival is more than a celebration — it’s a reminder of the strength, spirit, and connection that make rural communities so special.

In small communities, belonging matters. Neighbours know one another, friendships grow through shared experiences, and everyone has a place. That sense of inclusion and connection is especially important for adults with diverse needs, who deserve every opportunity to participate fully, build meaningful relationships, and celebrate alongside their community.

At The Flower Cart Group, we are proud to support inclusive communities where everyone is welcomed, valued, and encouraged to shine. Today, as the Valley comes together in celebration, we are reminded that community is at its very best when everyone belongs.

At The Flower Cart Group, accessibility is about so much more than ramps, doors, or spaces. It’s about creating opportunities for everyone to belong, participate, connect, and thrive.

Through shared experiences in our programs, friendships are formed, confidence grows, laughter is shared, and meaningful connections are made every single day. Whether it’s working side by side on a project, enjoying conversations over coffee, learning a new skill, or simply feeling welcomed and included, these moments matter.

True inclusion happens when people of all abilities have the opportunity to participate fully in their community — building relationships, creating memories, and supporting one another along the way.

Have you purchased a woodworking item from us in the past? Whether it’s a picnic table, bench, sign, game, décor piece, or something else handmade in our shop, we’d love for you to share a photo of it in it’s home today.

Post a picture in the comments of an item you’ve purchased from us over the years, and your name will be entered into a draw for a chance to WIN a Yardzee game!
