Optimist Club of New Hamburg To aid and encourage the development of youth in the belief that the giving of one's service to others will advance humankind, community and the world.

The Optimist Club of New Hamburg is associated with Optimist International, which is an international service club organization with 3,200 clubs and almost 100,000 members in more than 35 nations throughout the world. The international headquarters is located in St. Louis, Missouri. Optimist International is also the sponsor of Junior Optimist Octagon International (JOOI), designed for elementary

through high school youth. Optimist International's motto is "Friend of Youth" and the organization also uses the branding statement "Bringing Out the Best in Kids." Optimist Clubs demonstrate their caring attitude by carrying out the mission of the organization, "By providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in kids." Organization
Optimist International is made up of autonomous Optimist Clubs that do work in their communities. Each club raises its own funds and chooses its own service projects to improve the lives of children. Examples of typical projects are sponsoring youth athletic leagues, scholarship essay and speech contests and supporting local schools and youth groups.

Taking selfies is not our best thing, but we did manage to grab 14 bags of garbage from the sides of the road, between New Hamburg and Baden Saturday morning. It was raining when we started, so we were left a little soggy, but the result was impressive. Thanks to these brave members and other helpers for braving the early morning elements yesterday.

: We’re making repairs to the Hartman Bridge in New Hamburg from September 29 to October 10. Two-way traffic will be maintained, but please expect delays due to lane reductions. Pedestrian access will be maintained and all businesses around the bridge will remain open during this work.

It's so important to have a strong number of members, because we have a few busy months ahead of us, with some large projects on the horizon.

New Hamburg Fall Fair starts tonight, and goes all weekend.
Our club is back under the grandstand serving up your favourites...including our famous fries (that you can also get as a poutine).
If you're around the grandstand for the various shows like the horse pull, or Smash Up Derbies, come grab some excellent food while you watch. We'll try our best to get you through and back to your seat as fast as possible.

We are back again at Moparfest doing a food booth at the Pavilion (Near the playground). Serving up some excellent eats, including our fries! See you there.
