It's that glorious time of year when we start to prepare for the winter and stock up our pantries with all the goodness of the season's efforts in the garden and on our local farms.
Our hard working farmers have an abundance of fall crops to keep you well fed all winter.

🍅 Thank you, Columbia Basin Trust, for your continued support in bringing more fresh, local fruits and vegetables to tables in the North Slocan Valley!
In partnership with the Healthy Community Society of the North Slocan Valley, the BC Farmers Market Nutrition Coupon Program connects community members with fresh produce grown by our own local farmers, right here at the New Denver Friday Market.

Good for our farmers, good for our families- That's the kind of partnership we love to celebrate! 🌾

Two years ago we posted about a couple of very happy customers who said that Sonja's sourdough bread was "the best bread ever". She's still at it and due to popular demand she's increased her production so your chances of obtaining a loaf of New Denver gold have just increased. Valhalla Organics also has a selection of beautiful pickles, chutneys and hot sauce, locally grown produce and knitted hats.
You never know what kinds of treasures you might find at the New Denver Friday Market!

You may have noticed this new offering at the Friday Market recently - delicious handmade empanadas. Igma Pacheco - Rivas is originally from Chile and recently moved to Crescent Valley from Kimberly where he started his traditional Chilean empanada business. Igma uses organic wheat flour, free run eggs and local ingredients to make 4 different tasty fillings for his vegetarian empanadas. They are the perfect healthy street food, requiring no cutlery and can be eaten hot or cold.
You can find Igma at the Friday Market every second week and this weekend he will be at the Art in the Kohan event on the Sunday of this two day event.

We are so fortunate to have the continued use of this space for our market every Friday, June through September. Thank you Jeff and Caroline for this great gift you so generously offer to our community ❤️

We are fortunate to have some incredibly talented potters and ceramic artists here in the Slocan Valley, three of whom are vendors at the Friday Market.

Whitney Taylor is a regular vendor at the market and her pottery studio is in the New Denver area. Her hand built ceramic mugs and bowls come in a range of soft dreamy pastel and earthtone glazes. Whitney is also an experienced and gifted wedding photographer.

Sarah Beatty of Objects and Feelings works out of her Slocan studio making wheel thrown functional pottery in bright and joyful colours. Especially endearing are her collections of mugs with their quirky expressive faces. You can find Sarah at the market every couple of weeks. You won't miss her eye catching booth!

Bev Greer has been a beloved vendor at the Friday Market for decades. She works out of her home studio in Slocan where she produces beautiful earth toned bowls, mugs and plates that you may have seen adorning many of our tables. You can find Bev at the market for most of the summer.
