FIND THE GOLD WITHIN
Literally translated to "the Golden One", the myth of Eldorado is one told by conquistadors and explorers for centuries; The tale of Man's fruitless trek for the lost city of Gold deep in the rainforests and mountains of South America, only for it never to be found. At the heart of this ancient legend is a true story of a Rite of Passage ceremony carried out by the Muisca peoples indigenous to Central Colombia from AD800 to the modern day. They speak of ancestral royalty who would bring sacred offerings of gold to the waters of Lake Guatavita as a symbol of devotion to the Sun, considered to be the Source of all life. "For the Muisca of today, just as for our ancestors, gold is nothing more than an offering... gold does not represent wealth to us." - Enrique Gonzalez, Muisca Relative

Inspired by the legend of Eldorado and the local indigenous traditions of the Sinixt peoples of The Slocan Valley, this tale takes new form, bringing to life the town of New Denver, once known as Eldorado.
