Announcing another amazing staff for our camps - Raccoon camp and Wild Sisters! Mareike Wasilenko is a certified teacher and drama educator with a passion for creativity, outdoor learning, and building confidence in children. She has been running drama camps in Nelson for the past five years, tutors home learners locally, and has also supported the outdoor school Earth Connections as forest mentor.

Originally from Germany, Mareike grew up attending and later helping lead overnight camps for many years, experiences that shaped her love for camp life, community, and adventure. She is also a mother of two children (ages 8 and 10) and enjoys creating playful, welcoming spaces where children can connect, express themselves, gain confidence, and grow.

Forest Path has an amazing summer camp team! Announcing Valerie May Evans joining us for the Grizzly, Muskrat and Girls camp.
-- More camps are full! If you are interested, email me to get on the waitlist and we are working on getting more staff and add more spots. --

Valerie is a multi-talented human with a zest for learning and passion for inspiring curiosity, creativity, confidence and connection. She is a registered professional biologist, face painter, life coach, singer-songwriter, facilitator of play workshops and is also a community builder. She grew up taking part in girl guides and was inspired to became a girl guide leader herself, although it wasn’t until she partook in Coyote Mentorship training that she found the missing piece of how to design a fun and functional learning environment that really felt good. She is excited to join this year’s team and is looking forward to getting to know everyone!

The Forest Path is happy to welcome Valerie to the team!
