A Prayer for Wainwright

Lord Jesus,
Our hearts are heavy, and words few.
You bless those who mourn, so we bring You our sorrow for lives lost and injured.

We pray for the men and women of CFB Wainwright, for those who serve, those who lead, and those who carry the weight of what they saw.

We pray for the chaplains, medics, first responders, family and friends who are holding others up while their own hearts ache. Guard their minds. Give them rest. Let no one carry this alone.

Comfort the grieving, strengthen the helpers, and again, let no one walk through this alone. Be with each one bringing assistance.

You are the Resurrection and the Life. We grieve, but not without hope. Hold what we cannot hold, and in Your time, make all things new.

Today we are excited to to gift Neepawa Preschool with lunch and some classroom supplies and books for the kids. This is our small way of saying thank you for all you do every day to love, teach and encourage every kiddo who comes to your space. Thank you also to hid'n hollow and Rotors Bakery for your support.

Stepping into Acts 4, we see the outcome of the lame man's miraculous healing in chapter 3 and the necessity for the church to be bold and courageous.

Heads up! The Cornerstone Hub drop-in resumes tomorrow after school! Due to an increase in interest, the drop in will now be available to junior high school grades. This means we will serve students from grades 6-12. Homework assistance, tutoring and life skills plus tons of games, table top rpgs, video games and music. It’s always a great time! On offer at the snack bar this week: cold pop for $1, water for 25 cents and snacks like fruit snacks, chocolate bars and chips, all prices at under a dollar!

As a note to parents - we keep a sign in log and students 12 or under will have permission forms sent home so you know where your children are at all times. Please contact our office or reach out via messenger if you have any questions.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Our Children’s Policy

We wanted to make sure everyone is aware of our policy regarding children in church:
If your kids are loud, please still come to church.
If you’re running late because getting everyone out the door was a battle, please still come to church.
If your toddler won’t sit still, please still come to church.
If your baby needs to eat, please still come to church.
If your child asks questions at the least convenient time, please still come to church.
If someone cries, drops a toy, needs a snack, or has to make their third trip to the bathroom, please still come to church.
If you feel like you spent the entire service managing your children and heard approximately 12% of the sermon, please still come to church.
If Sunday morning feels messy instead of peaceful, please still come to church.
If you’re worried your children are distracting the people around you, please still come to church.

Because children do not learn how to be part of the Church by staying home until they can sit quietly.

They learn by being here.
They learn the singing by hearing us sing.
They learn to pray by hearing us pray.
They learn to worship by watching us worship.
They learn that church is home because we make room for them here.

The wiggles, whispers, dropped crayons, crying babies, and little voices are not interruptions to the life of the Church.

They are evidence that the Church is alive.

So bring the babies. Bring the toddlers. Bring the big kids. Come late. Sit in the back. Sit in the front. Step out when you need to and come right back in.

Just come.
Children are not simply the future of the Church. They are part of the Church right now. If we don’t make room for the next generation in the Church, we risk becoming a generation that leaves behind empty churches. The children in our pews today are the Church leaders, worshippers, and servants of tomorrow.
And at Calvary Chapel there is a place for them here.
