Fresh produce shouldn't be out of reach for anyone in our community. The reality in Nanoose (and everywhere) is that for many households right now, the cost of fresh fruits and vegetables is simply unaffordable. The Good Food Box Program helps close that gap reliably.

Each month, NCS volunteers drive into Nanaimo to pick up boxes of fresh produce through Nanaimo Foodshare Society (all-star team and operation there), bringing them back to Nanoose Bay for distribution on our program days. For many of our participants, this is one of the only reliable ways they can access fresh, healthy food. It's a program that benefits everyone who receives a box, regardless of age, income, or circumstance. Beyond the nutrients, the fresh food is a point of connection, of storytelling, of community-building — talking about food is emotional and so very human!

Thanks to a generous $5,000 donation from the Rotary Club of Parksville, this part of our program is funded going into the autumn cooler months, helping us keep fresh produce boxes flowing to households across our community.

We're deeply grateful to Rotary for recognizing the importance of this work and helping us keep fresh food accessible for our neighbours who need it most.

Good Food Box is For everyone! Pay $15 for produce worth $25 - $30! Pick up at one of our depots across in Nanaimo, Parksville and Ladysmith. Delivery also available. Place your order today for a box next Thursday. Order link: https://nanaimogoodfoodbox.com/order

Thank you, Rotary Club of Parksville!

The Parksville Rotary Food Security Bottle Drop Campaign was a huge success, and today was cheque presentation day, with a total of $56,000 distributed to seven worthy organizations in our community:
* Forward House
* Oceanside Outreach Program
* Salvation Army
* Manna Homeless Society
* Oceanside Family Program
* Nanoose Community Services
* Arrowsmith Lodge — Cokely Manor, Seniors Program

Parksville Rotary expresses thanks to these organizations for the great work they do in our community and to Speedy Glass and our many supporters and donors who make this fundraiser possible.

We're so looking forward to having our volunteers greet and help all the happy and amazed faces at Nanoose Bay Art in the Garden this week!
"Pro Tip - TAKE THE FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE! Not only is it super well organized and helps reduce the congestion, you never know what moment of connection you'll have with others on the bus!"
- J & J, NCS supporters and now best friends from meeting on the shuttle to Art in the Garden a few years ago.

The ever-special Nanoose Bay Art in the Garden returns again to Nanoose - check out the amazing lineup of artisans!
Did you know that organizers of Nanoose Bay Art in the Garden have donated over $100,000 to families in need through Nanoose Community Services over the 15 years? How's that for impact and the definition of neighbours helping neighbours?!
Our volunteers look forward to seeing everyone July 10 thru 12 as we lend a hand to organizers alongside the brilliant folks of Oceanside Special Olympics.
