2026 MVC Summer Indoor Camps are here!
Join us this July at Mariners Volleyball Club for a full week of skill development, fun competition, and high-energy training at NCS!
📍 Venue: Nanaimo Christian School
🗓 WEEK 1: July 13th–17th
▫️ Entering Grade 3/4 Boys & Girls
⏰ 9:00AM–11:15AM
▫️ Entering Grade 7 Girls
⏰ 11:45AM–2:00PM
▫️ Entering Grade 5/6 Boys & Girls
⏰ 2:15PM–4:30PM
🗓 WEEK 2: July 27th–31st
▫️ Entering Grade 7 Girls

💲 Cost: $150 + GST + service fee
Whether you’re brand new to volleyball or looking to sharpen your skills before club season, these camps are a great way to stay active and improve this summer!

The Glades is an Adult competitive 3’s grass volleyball league created through a partnership between Mariners Volleyball Club and the VIU Mariners Men’s Volleyball program. It is designed specifically for adult men’s and women’s players who are looking for meaningful competition.

The league runs Sundays, May 17th - July 26th from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Harry Wipper Park.

While Nanaimo has plenty of co-ed options, The Glades fills the gap with dedicated men’s and women’s leagues, giving competitive players a space to test themselves, improve and battle it out against teams at their level. League play runs on a ladder system, meaning your results matter. Win and climb, lose and regroup - each week brings new matchups, keeping things challenging all season long.

Your registration includes: A league t-shirt , end of season prizes, a competitive but welcoming local community vibe, good tunes, great people and great volleyball.

No Traffic. No Travel. Just Competition. If you’re chasing real competition without leaving town, enter The Glades.

In MVC’s inaugural launch of our Youth 4’s Sunset Volleyball League @ The Glades, our 13-18U boys and girls league is filing.

Over 80 athletes have now registered and are entering the Glades at Sunset with MVC.
Don’t miss your chance to register with your friends for this exciting new adventure!

The league runs Fridays, May 15th - July 31st from 6:00PM - 8:00PM at Harry Wipper Park.
*Game format: Teams of 2 combine with other teams teams of 2 to play in a 4 vs 4 King/Queen of the Court format. Matches rotate in “King/Queen of the Court” style, so everyone gets a chance to play and move up the ladder.

Registration includes a team t-shirt, weekly giveaways and end of season prizes.
Join MVC for music, fun and a competitive atmosphere. Play local, connect with friends, continue to develop your indoor skills and make this your summer to thrive.

*Register with a partner listed. Each partner must complete their own individual registration in Sportlomo. Have your partner’s name, their guardian’s email and phone number handy when you register.

Mariners Volleyball Club is proud to partner with Island Optimal Health & Performance to support the health and performance of our athletes.

This collaboration will provide all streams of our athletes with enhanced access to injury prevention, treatment and recovery services throughout the season. The MVC & Island Optimal partnership will be focused on keeping all Mariners athletes healthy, performing at their best and returning to play safely and efficiently when injuries do occur.

After more than a year with Mariners Volleyball Club, I close this chapter with gratitude and respect.
Working in a different country gave me the opportunity to learn from another culture and to grow both professionally and personally. I leave with the feeling that I taught and learned in equal measure — which, for me, is the essence of meaningful work.
Sport is never the work of one person. Athletes grow through skills, coaches through learning, clubs through improvement, leaders through better decisions, and families through clear and honest information.
If an athlete improved, if a coach learned something new, if a family gained better understanding, or if a leader discovered a new idea to move things forward — then my work was fulfilled.
Thank you to the athletes, coaches, families, and leadership at Mariners for the trust and the shared journey.
We will stay in contact, and I’m sure our paths will cross again.
Coaching is not only about winning games — it is about leaving people better than you found them.
I hope you remember our time together as warmly as I will.

On behalf of the President and Board of Directors, we would like to share that Gustavo Castillo will be departing Mariners Volleyball Club at the end of March as he prepares for his return to Argentina.

Over the past year, Gustavo has made a meaningful impact across our entire volleyball community. From building incredible connections with our youngest athletes in youth programming to working with our high-performance players, he brought passion, knowledge, and professionalism to every session. Gustavo has also been a valued mentor and resource for both our developing and experienced coaches.

While we are sad to see him go, we are grateful for the energy, leadership, and care he has given to our club. We also support his pursuit of opportunities that align with his passion for high-performance coaching and wish him every success in the next chapter of his journey.

MVC Adult Women’s Invitational 🏐🔥
We’re excited to host our annual Mariners Adult Women’s Invitational Tournament on Saturday, March 7th at John Barsby Community School. MVC is looking for 2 more women’s teams to join!
💰 Cash prizing for the top team

🏐 One-day competitive format
This year’s event means even more to us. Proceeds from the tournament will be donated in support of Tricia Korkowski, a valued member of our volleyball community, former National Team athlete, and certified referee who is currently undergoing cancer treatment.
