After more than a year with Mariners Volleyball Club, I close this chapter with gratitude and respect.
Working in a different country gave me the opportunity to learn from another culture and to grow both professionally and personally. I leave with the feeling that I taught and learned in equal measure — which, for me, is the essence of meaningful work.
Sport is never the work of one person. Athletes grow through skills, coaches through learning, clubs through improvement, leaders through better decisions, and families through clear and honest information.
If an athlete improved, if a coach learned something new, if a family gained better understanding, or if a leader discovered a new idea to move things forward — then my work was fulfilled.
Thank you to the athletes, coaches, families, and leadership at Mariners for the trust and the shared journey.
We will stay in contact, and I’m sure our paths will cross again.
Coaching is not only about winning games — it is about leaving people better than you found them.
I hope you remember our time together as warmly as I will.
