Loni’s beautiful little nieces brought such light and sunshine to her celebration of life—running, laughing, giggling and turning themselves into little “snowballs” in their fluffy white vests. Though they are still so young, the beautiful photographs of their Aunt Loni’s bright, shining smile—and all the stories shared with them—will keep her close in their hearts forever and ever. Loni and her beautiful essence will never be forgotten. 💕

After nearly 4,700 kilometres over the last 10 days, I finally understand why Loni always said she loved, loved, Saskatchewan.
We drove through endless skies, fields of yellow and purple, wildfire detours, lightning, thunder, and torrential rain. My partner Fred calmly drove through it all like it was just another day on the road.
Every horse made me think of Loni. Every dragonfly made me smile. And when we reached Canora and saw the beautiful Ukrainian statue that Darryl, Loni's beloved partner, had told me about, it felt like another little connection to her.
Now... let's talk about those Saskatchewan mosquitoes! 😂 I'm convinced they're the provincial bird. They were enormous, relentless, and I'm pretty sure a few of them tried to hitch a ride home with us!
Loni had a way of making me laugh until I cried, smile when I needed it most, and even scream with excitement. That's the gift she left with so many of us.
So today, I'm smiling through the memories. I hope she's riding with the wind, surrounded by the most beautiful horses and endless skies... and laughing because she knew those mosquitoes would be the first thing I'd remember about Saskatchewan.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news that our beautiful Loni Atwood has passed away. Her decline came far more quickly than anyone could have ever imagined. She left this world surrounded by the love of her family.
For more than four years, Loni fought with incredible courage. She never allowed her illness to define her. Even on the hardest days, she was thinking about the people she loved, her students, and getting back to the life that meant so much to her.
Loni's kindness, strength, humour, and love will continue to ripple through every life she touched. She leaves behind a legacy that can never be measured, only felt.
If you had the pleasure of knowing Loni, you'll remember her smile. It had a way of making people feel welcome, giving them hope, and reminding us to look for the good, even on the hardest days. Through every challenge she faced, that beautiful smile never left her. It became a reflection of her strength, her courage, and the incredible light she carried within her.
Loni loved her dad, cherished the memory of her mom, and loved her sisters, nieces, family, and friends fiercely. Her two boys were the center of her world. She was deeply devoted to her students, and they meant so much to her. Loni cherished Darryl and lit up whenever she was with her horse, Lily. Gentle and kind, she somehow kept smiling through it all.
Loni was deeply grateful for the incredible love and support that surrounded her throughout these past four years. Every prayer, every message, every donation, every act of kindness, and every word of encouragement meant more to her than you will ever, ever know.
She was also profoundly thankful for the compassion and exceptional care shown by her doctors, nurses, oncologists, and every member of her medical team, who walked beside her with kindness, dignity, and unwavering support.
From me personally, and all of us at Ripple Effects, it was an absolute honour and privilege to know Loni and to support her in every way we could.
She truly made this world a better place.
Rest peacefully, beautiful Loni. You will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never, ever forgotten. 💗👼💗

Loni is finally home from the hospital.
She wants to sincerely thank everyone for the love, support, messages, and encouragement you've shown her. It has meant more than words can say.
Today she's doing something that's good for her heart—visiting her horse. No riding just yet, just a few quiet moments, a brush, and a visit. Sometimes that's exactly the kind of medicine a girl needs.
Thank you for continuing to keep Loni in your thoughts as she regains her strength. 💜

💜 Happy Friday from Campbell River! 💜
Loni is doing really, really, well today. The fluid has stopped building up, she's sitting up, eating, showered, and still wearing that beautiful smile. 😊
Thank you, thank you so much for your support. Knowing so many people are standing behind her means more than words can say. You've lifted her spirits, supported her family, and reminded her that she's not walking this journey alone. 🌊💜☀️

💜🌊🐴 AMAZING NEWS FOR LONI! 🐴🌊💜

Yesterday, we shared that we were just $159.21 short of funding Loni's next immunotherapy treatment. Within a very short time, Arlou Harris stepped forward and covered the exact amount needed.

Because of this incredible community, Loni's next immunotherapy treatment is now FULLY FUNDED. 💜

We believe in being completely transparent. The treatment goal has now been reached, and thanks to the generosity of so many people, we actually exceeded that goal.

We also want to recognize Loni's family, who stepped up to help with many of her living expenses during this difficult time so that donated funds could be directed toward her immunotherapy treatments.

Loni remains in the Intensive Care Unit as she continues to recover from surgery and regain her strength. Any funds received beyond the treatment goal will be held aside and used to help with Loni's living expenses while she is unable to work.

Today, however, our focus is simply on gratitude and celebrating this incredible milestone together. We could not have done it without all of you.

First, some incredible news: we are only $159.21 away from covering Loni's next immunotherapy treatment! 🎉If a few people can chip in $2, $5, $10, or $50, we can get her over the finish line and ready for her next treatment. We could not have accomplished this without you. The support from this community has been absolutely, overwhelming. I truly have no words. Loni has no words. Her family has no words.

The love, support, prayers, shares, donations, and encouragement have meant more to our family than words can ever express. Every dollar, every message, every purple heart has helped carry Loni through some very difficult days.

Yesterday was still a difficult day for Loni. She remains in ICU, but that strong, determined woman is still fighting. Her chest drain, kept clogging, making it difficult to remove the fluid around her lung. The doctors used clot-busting medication to help clear it. The second treatment worked, and the fluid began draining very quickly. Unfortunately, it drained faster than her lung could expand, causing severe pain and making it difficult for her to catch her breath. The team quickly stepped in with medication to help reduce the inflammation and get her more comfortable. Today they're carefully monitoring everything and reopening the drain to see how much more fluid can be removed safely. In Loni's words: "I just wish it would stop." And here she is again today in true fashion, sitting in the sun with that brilliant, beautiful smile
So, let's do what this community does best. Let's lift her up with our prayers, positive thoughts, purple hearts, horses, and giant waves of encouragement. 💜🐴🌊
Let's get Loni through this hurdle, out of ICU, back into her immunotherapy treatments, back to her students, and back on her horse where she belongs.
We've come this far together. Let's finish it together. 💜
