We are a non-profit program for at-risk youth located in downtown Nanaimo. Jona Kristinsson the CEO of JAMZ has been working with at-risk youth for over five years and in doing so has realized that there is a desperate need for alternative music, arts and theatre programs in the community. There are countless teens in Nanaimo who have strong desires to get involved in arts, music and theatre, but

who may not have the means/patience to participate in typical school arts programs due to financial strains, ADD/ADHD, autism, and behavioural disorders. At JAMZ we understand that everyone learns at their own pace, and we cater to the individuals specific needs in order to create a learning environment that really works for them. We provide teens/young adults with youth jams, singing/guitar/drum/bass/piano workshops, rehearsal space, professional musicians to provide guidance and musical advice, gig opportunities and that's just scratching the surface!
