Island Waters Flyfishers was originally established in 1985 as a non-profit club by a group who simply enjoyed fishing together, and whose hope and purpose it was to engage others and to promote and facilitate fly-fishing and comradery in this area. Island Waters FlyFishers Society was registered as a not for profit society in May 1985 under the Societies Act of the Province of British Columbia
Our club activities include conservation projects such as river and stream restoration, partnerships with other conservation organizations on varied projects, casting clinics, fly tying, public education, local area fish outs as well as other areas of the Island and province, weekly club lunches, monthly general meetings, presentations by professional speakers on subjects related to fly fishing, opportunities for members to share their knowledge on various subjects such as fishing equipment, rivers & boat building etc., educational classes, knowledge on invertebrates and much more. IWFF welcomes all individuals whether they have ever fly fished or are of any level of the flyfishing experience who wish to learn, share and experience this beautiful sport.
