Spring Break is here… and so is your next excuse to ride 🚲

Across BC, the forecast might be giving us a little bit of everything — rain, wind, maybe even snow in some communities… but that’s not stopping us.

We’re rolling out the Spring Break Community Bike Challenge
📅 March 22–28

This isn’t about long rides or perfect weather.
It’s about getting out, even just a little, each day.

🚲 Ride to the library
🏊 Stop by the community centre
🍪 Grab a treat from a local spot
🌳 Visit a park or trail
🎬 Plan a movie night ride

7 days. 7 simple rides. All doable — no matter the forecast.

Whether it’s a 10-minute spin between rain showers or a bundled-up ride in cooler temps… it all counts.

👉 Follow along daily and ride your way through Spring Break
📸 Tag us and show us where you go

Let’s see how BC rides — in real spring conditions 🌦️

"For many city residents, especially younger generations, ditching a car isn’t just about saving money — it’s about lifestyle. Anecdotes from Canadians highlight how the flexibility of public transit, cycling, and occasional car rentals or rideshares can replace the need for year‑round ownership, especially when combined with a dense urban environment that supports active travel."

A newly released national survey on car ownership shows the differences in how Canadians access mobility.

🚲 Cycling Across BC in 2025

From January 1 to December 31, BC riders showed up for everyday trips, commutes, errands, and joy rides; not just during GoByBike Week, but all year long.

In 2025, riders across the province:
• Logged 790,252 rides
• Covered 11,994,563 kilometres
• Saved 2,600,413 kg of greenhouse gas emissions

That GHG reduction is roughly equivalent to taking 600 passenger vehicles off the road for an entire year.

Every ride counts. Together, these everyday choices added up to meaningful climate action, healthier communities, and a more connected BC. Thank you for pedalling, connecting, and belonging throughout the year. Where will the road lead you in 2026!?

Data reflects rides logged January 1–December 31, 2025.
