Sweet farewells and see you in September!

Last week was last day of classes for Victoria and Nanaimo before summer break. And bannock tacos were a special feast! See the last pic!

In Victoria, we celebrated by listening to the Learners tell their stories they have been creating. Chapbooks of legacy stories were made for each Learner and we enjoyed hearing their final versions!

In Nanaimo, Patrick drummed a thank you song before we ate. Elder Learners also gave speeches about how much they love class, love learning and love each other.

The overwhelming theme of both classes was - This is Reconciliation. Yes the Learners learn. But the allies, learn from the Learners. Every single day.

Grateful to all. Hay'sxw'qa.

Thank you to the employees of the BC Ombudsperson Office! The individuals who work for the BCO had a book drive, and donated the funds raised to The Literacy Circle! That was a beautiful thought and a great step to reconciliation.
