A Tour with a Master Gardener

I’ve admired Blair and Laverne Warner’s landscaped hillside on East Petpeswick for years. This summer, he took me on a walk over the grounds. He explained how over the decades they had transformed what was once a pasture, with a large vegetable garden, a greenhouse, multiple composting bins, a stone-walled pond fed by three streams with a stone-lined creek draining down to the road, a little hide-away pond in a sea of ferns where they once lost 100 trees to a hurricane, and a long row of roses along the road that grew from a 75 cent bunch of roses his mother bought long ago at Eaton’s.

Adam Campbell of East Jeddore

We are profoundly sad to share the news of the death of Adam Campbell of East Jeddore. He belonged to this place, the water, the fog, the trees, and especially the birds. He was a maker of beautiful things.

He has gone ahead of his many friends, his family, and his wife who could not have been more loved. It is hard to find the words to express the sadness we feel at his loss, and the gratitude for having been his people.

Will be good to be together,
K8
