🇨🇦2022 Canadian Optimist Championships🇨🇦

A big Congratulations to Alex Mitchell and Aidan Aaboe McIntosh who just finished competing in their first ever national competition. This year’s Nationals saw the second largest number of competitors to ever compete, with 100 boats sailing in the Championship fleet.
Both boys gave it their all and had a fantastic time.

🥉A special shout out to Aidan, who finished 3rd in White Fleet (sailors who are 10 years old and under)🥉

⛵️Way to go sailors! ⛵️

📣Tuesday Night Racing Shoutout🏁

⛵️This week PYC Tuesday Night Racing is Sponsored by Local Business Eastern Shore Docks and Floats🙌🏼
***************************************
⛵️Every Tuesday night you’ll find our sailors out on the water practicing for regattas and learning about racing in sailing. 👊🏼

🍔🌭🥤Each week this will be sponsored by wonderful businesses (and individuals!) from our community to provide the sailors with a bbq dinner and a drink after the day-long sailing lessons and before they get out for racing. This helps our sailors get more time on the water and in boats (🙌🏼 ) by not having to go home and come back for racing nights.

These Tuesday Night’s are also a great chance for all community members to check out the LTS program in action and watch the boats from the shore. ⛵️⛵️⛵️

We have some comfortable Adirondack chairs waiting for you on our deck and you may even be able to get a drink, if the bar is open.

❇️This week’s Tuesday Night Racing is brought to you by Eastern Shore Docks and Floats.👏🏼👏🏼❇️

🛶(There’s no kayak emoji?!?)
Tonight our sailors took out our club’s kayaks for a fun social evening for our Tuesday night racing crewe.

🙏🏼Thank you, Eastern Shore Docks and Floats 🙏🏼

▶️If you or your business would like to sponsor a night of racing, please reach out to us.

❤️We are so grateful to business and individuals in our community for their support ❤️

📣PYC 2022 Instructor introductions!📣

🤩Last, but certainly not least is Lukas🤩

👉🏼It may already be mid-summer, but we have one more intro!

⛵️Lukas is our highest level instructor at PYC and our CANSail 3 & 4 instructor this year.

⛵️He also learned to sail dinghies at Petpeswick Yacht Club, and he is currently our only Instructor that has completed CanSail level 5. He has been racing this summer with fellow PYC instructor, Nina, skippering a 420.

⛵️Welcome back, Lukas! 🤩

📸
1/ Here is Lukas in an opti in his first year of sailing

2/ This is a picture of Lukas and brother, and previous PYC Instructor, Marius 🥰

3/ Finally a picture of Nina and Lukas raving this summer in a 420

Your 3/4s are so glad to have you back this year, Lukas! 🙌🏼
