If you are 15 to 30 years old, not returning to school in the fall, not attached to Employment benefits, unemployed or under employed you may qualify! Please ensure you have a Social Insurance number.

We love when cake artist Jackie Waugh and her sister/assistant come to.play in the kitchen! Today's masterpiece was the yummiest, cutest little cake that looked like a donut. The laughter could be heard everywhere!!

Graduation for our youth brings out so many feelings! Sadness to leave new friends and a safe environment for expression and growth but also pride in accomishments and excitement for new opportunities! Thank you to each of these amazing beings for giving us space on your journey. They are leaving us with new resumes full of certifications, skills, new experiences and earned references . How lucky our community is to be able to celebrate our youth! Did you know since 2019, we have supported almost 100 youth along the Eastern Shore and Musquodoboit Valley? Watch for whats coming next!

This was the last week before work placement and it was a busy one! Our youth now have First Aid to add to their resume and life skills. A beautiful fall day was spent at The Deanery . It was the first time for all of our youth and they learned so much right here in their own community. Of course a day with Kim Thompson always means homemade pizza! We topped the week off with a cooking class facilitated by Nicola Bailey , the last financial literacy class with Deb Stevens and paint night! The youth also took part in a survey with the Eastern Shore Musquodoboit Community Health Board about what they see are needs in their community. Next week is work placement. Stay tuned for some exciting stories!

Farm week is one of our Favorites! A big thank you to Amy Hill of Snowy River Farms for opening her home and farm and for sharing her knowledge! It is so important for our youth to know where their food comes from and the work is takes to grow good food. Amy cooked us all a beautiful spaghetti meal using some of the produce the youth harvested.

We had such an amazing taco lunch today at the Old School. Youth gathered together to learn how to follow a recipe, chop and measure ingredients and kitchen safety. There was lots of laughter and music in the creation of delicious food . Much thanks to Nicola Bailey for facilitating and to the Eastern Shore Musquodoboit Community Health Board for funding our youth cooking project. After lunch each youth received their own recipe box, a copy of the recipe and a $50 grocery card to be able to create their own versions at home.
