All communities, especially rural communities, depend on non-profit groups and organizations for many vital services. It is important now as our organizations are aging and the volunteers are declining. We have many newcomers coming in to the Mount Forest area, who are looking for ways to connect to the community and can fill the gap if they are connecting in a positive way. Bringing resources int

o one local centre will continue to impact the community for many years as their volunteer base changes and grows. The community animator will strengthen volunteer organizations by working directly with them, while creating volunteer description tool kits to be utilized by potential volunteers in finding their right “fit”. Our Community Animator will support existing volunteer organizations as well as provide tools for new projects and organizations to thrive. Focus primarily will be on bridging and building communications between volunteer organizations, sharing knowledge and resources, as well developing and implementing facilitators for workshops, webinars, and creating a local on-line resource library.
