Thank you so much, Pauldavis! We really appreciate your support.
Parents often feel trapped between allowing smartphones and social media or having their child be the only one without it.
Unplugged Canada is here to change that. Pledge by pledge, family by family, we're changing that norm.
Join over 10,000 families who are waiting until at least 14 before smartphones. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Start with a basic, non-internet enabled device (watch or flip phone) if you need to get in touch before then.
Head to www.unpluggedcanada.com to sign the pledge and find like-minded families at your child's school.
An overdue post:
Let's talk about Unplugged Canada.
Months ago, I was approached by a few Chapters of Unplugged Canada who shared their vision for helping parents hold off phones until after Grade 8 (around 14yrs of age)
I have since met some of those members at my presentations in Toronto, Ottawa and I even met the founder -Jenny Perez, who drove 90min to my presentation in Delta BC last month. We shook hands and had a good conversation (although brief, as I had to catch a red-eye).
I respect Jenny. She has founded a movement, driven by a passion for helping families allow kids to be kids, and not be on smartphones until around 14yrs old.
Given that my position has always been delaying smartphones until the end of Grade 8, I give a "plug" at the end of my parent presentation, for my audience to look them up and get on board by signing a pledge. Hundreds of parents have done so.
I have linked her website below.
Take a moment to review.

I told Jenny I'd be happy to meet again and speak further when I return to BC.
