πŸ’πŸ”¨ Big night of progress!
Members of the Morden Firefighters Association spent last evening installing the new boards and ledger around the Courthouse outdoor rink.
What was down to the β€œstuds” just a day ago is starting to look like a rink again! πŸ™Œ
Next up: puck board! πŸ’
A big thank you to our Association members who continue to volunteer their time to keep this project moving forward.

πŸ’πŸ”¨ Rink revitalization continues!
Members of the Association are back at work at the Courthouse outdoor rink, removing the old boards and stripping the rink right down to the β€œstuds.”
With the old boards removed, the next step is replacing the stringers and getting ready for new boards!

A huge thank you to the Morden Community Thrift Store, Morden Area Foundation, and the many local businesses, organizations, sports teams, and individuals who supported the fundraising efforts that made this project possible. ❀️
And a big thank you to our Association members who are volunteering their time and putting in the work to get the rink ready before winter. πŸ”¨β„οΈ

Helping out where we can. 🀝

Last night, members of the Morden Firefighters Association lent a hand to the Morden Community Thrift Shop Inc, helping their staff pick up and move a large donation of furniture and household items.
Sometimes supporting our community is as simple as showing up when an extra set of hands is needed.

We're happy to help another local organization that does so much for our community.

Some of the best conversations in the fire service happen right here. πŸš’
On the ride back to the hall, the call is behind you and the adrenaline starts to wear off. Sometimes we talk about the call. Sometimes it's about work tomorrow. And sometimes it's just giving the guy across from you a hard time. πŸ˜„

It's never planned. It just happens.
These are the moments between the calls that build friendships, create memories, and make being part of the crew mean a little more. πŸš’πŸ”₯

Proud of our sister Taylor for continuing to break stereotypes and inspire women and young girls across our community and region. ❀️πŸ”₯

Whether it’s behind the bench, in the fire hall, or wherever her ambitions take her, she continues to show what’s possible.
Way to represent, Taylor! πŸ‘πŸš’

Work is underway on the revitalization of the Courthouse outdoor hockey rink!
Earlier today, members of the Morden Firefighters Association and Morden Police Service removed the existing puck board and chain link fencing to expose the wooden boards underneath.
Over the summer, the boards will be replaced to help ensure the rink is ready for another season of hockey and skating this winter. ❄️

A sincere thank you to the organizations, businesses, and individuals whose donations are helping make this project possible. Your support is helping invest in a valued community gathering place for years to come. ❀️
Stay tuned for updates as the project moves forward!

πŸ‘ Community partnerships make a difference!

Morden Fire & Rescue would like to extend our sincere thanks to Careica Health for their generous donation in support of our Ground Search & Rescue (GSAR) Team through the Careica Gives initiative. This significant contribution will help strengthen our team’s ability to respond when our community and surrounding region need us most.

Pictured (L-R): Fire Chief Tim Reimer accepting the donation from Careica Health representative and Morden Fire & Rescue Captain Josh Barkley.

Thank you, Careica Health, for investing in public safety and helping our GSAR team continue to serve with excellence. πŸš’πŸ”¦πŸ€
