Since the launch of Square One Supportive Housing, emergency service interactions have dropped dramatically for the people we support. For the 36 clients we currently support here are the stats:

📉 Before housing: 394 emergency service interactions in 6 months
🏠 After housing: 33 emergency service interactions in 6 months

That’s a 91% reduction — proof that when people are housed and supported, they no longer live in crisis.

And the impact isn’t just personal — it’s financial too:

💤 A shelter bed: $69 per night
🚔 A jail stay: $143 per night
🏥 A psychiatric inpatient bed: $665 per night
🏠 Supportive housing at Square One: $25–31 per day

When people have stable housing and support, costs to emergency, justice, and healthcare systems plummet.
It’s compassionate, effective, and fiscally responsible.
