Meet Macennah! 👋
Macennah is excited to be part of the HOMEBASE team as Peer Support focusing on Education and Employment services. She has a passion for working with youth and helping them recognize their strengths, build confidence, and feel supported as they work towards their goals. With experience in childcare and working with youth, she brings a kind, welcoming, and supportive approach to her work.

In her role Macennah supports youth through their education and employment goals in our Future Shift Program, including helping them enroll in education, explore opportunities for getting an education, find employment, build a resume and develop skills and confidence they need to reach their goals. She enjoys being someone the youth can come see for support and believes having someone in your corner can make a big difference.

Macennah is a very creative and crafty person. She loves coloring, drawing, and doing diamond art. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and partner, working on a new craft or relaxing and playing Sims 4. She is looking forward to getting to know everyone and being a part of the HOMBASE community.

Partner Highlight: Moose Jaw Multicultural Council

Building belonging through partnership 🌍

HOMEBASE Moose Jaw is proud to partner with the Moose Jaw Multicultural Council to support newcomer youth in our community. Through this collaboration, youth can access newcomer services in a space that is welcoming, youth-friendly, and easy to drop into when support is needed.

The Moose Jaw Multicultural Council also brings youth together by hosting their Youth Advisory Meetings at HOMEBASE and working alongside us on employment programs that help young people build skills and confidence for their future.

We’re grateful for their ongoing support of our mission and for helping create a space where every young person feels included, connected, and supported.

Meet Manal!

Manal is the new Peer Support Lead at HOMEBASE who enjoys working with youth, planning fun activities, and creating spaces where people can relax, connect, and be themselves. With a background in Educational Psychology, teaching, and youth work, she enjoys learning from young people and finding creative ways to make conversations more interesting and meaningful.

You might find her planning a new activity, joining a game, working on an art project, helping with school or job-related things, or just hanging out and having a random conversation. 😂 She believes that support doesn’t always have to be serious - sometimes a good laugh, a fun activity, or simply having someone listen can go a long way.

Manal also loves hearing new ideas and seeing what youth are interested in, so don’t be shy about sharing your suggestions. If you have an idea for an activity, a topic you want to talk about, or just want to stop by and say hi, come find her at HOMEBASE!

HOMEBASE is looking for youth to join our Youth Impact Committee! 💥

If you’re passionate about making a difference, sharing your ideas, and helping shape what happens in your community - we want to hear from YOU! 🫶

✨ Who can apply?
Youth ages 12–25 from Moose Jaw and the surrounding community

🗓️ Meetings: Once a month
⏰ Time commitment: 1.5–2 hours per month
💰 Paid: $25/hour

As a Youth Impact Committee member, you’ll have the opportunity to share your perspective, help make decisions, plan initiatives, and make a real impact for youth in your community.
