PBSSQ - Philippine Benevolent and Scholarship Society of Quebec - Canada

The Philippine Benevolent and Scholarship Society of Quebec (PBSSQ) began as a committee to serve the Youth and the Seniors of the Filipino-Canadian Community, under the umbrella organization of the Filipino-Canadian Associations of Quebec, the Federation. In 1984, through the initiative of Mrs. Pelausa, our Founder, and the dedication of its members, the PBSSQ became a registered non-profit organ

ization incorporated under Part III of the Companies Act, Province of Quebec. To this day, the PBSSQ remains a socio-civic organization committed to two primary objectives:
1) Benevolence, to promote a caring and compassionate community, with emphasis on our Seniors and our Youth
2) Scholarship, to motivate our Youth in their pursuit of excellence in all fields of academic and social achievement
To meet these goals, the PBSSQ has held Annual Thanksgiving and Memorial Masses and Easter Celebrations, to bring the community together in affirmation of our traditional values. The annual Awards Night allows our community to take pride in the fine young individuals excelling in their academics and showcasing their God-given talents. We have celebrated the families, friends and mentors who have nurtured and guided them. We also acknowledge special individuals who have enriched our community through their often silent benevolent actions. With determination and with guidance from Above, the PBSSQ will endeavour to continue to be of service to our dynamic community.
