Tlachiuak Atelier is a grassroots artist collective and workshop, run primarily by-and-for artists with current or former experience of being unhoused. Located at 1801 Rachel Est, the workshop provides a calming environment for unhoused and underhoused artists to create as well as explore different mediums and new skills. The majority of collective members are Inuit and First Nations artists and e

Tlachiuak also aims to create spaces for individuals of different lived experience to come together to create relationships, share skills and foster solidarity. We believe in the transformative power of art to heal, inspire, bring people together and foster social change.

Mala drew a story that happened 1000 years ago. "This is the story of a woman who was getting attacked by a polar bear. She had no choice but to stick her mitten on her cane, she struck her cane into the mouth of the polar bear and so the polar bear choked. This was the greatest story i ever heard."
