Through Gytana’s Eyes: Motherhood in Quebec. Some of the greatest acts of love are the ones no one ever sees.
The mountains moved quietly.
The fears carried silently.
The dreams held together with hope, faith, and determination.
Motherhood is a journey. Not a moment. Not a holiday. Mother’s Day is every single day.
To be a Black mother in Quebec is to create belonging where systems have too often created distance.
To be soft and strong, exhausted and unwavering, all at once.
Today, we are grateful to Gytana for sharing her truth with us.
To every Black mother: thank you for the worlds you carry and the futures you shape. 🖤

Through Briana’s Eyes: Motherhood in Quebec. Because behind every “I’m okay” may be a silent battle.
Behind every school drop-off, every late-night worry, every hard conversation, is a mother doing her absolute best.
To be a Black mother in Quebec is to hold tenderness and resilience in the same breath to carry both love and worry, hope and exhaustion.
Motherhood is a journey, measured not in milestones alone, but in the countless unseen moments that shape a life. And for that reason, Mother’s Day lives far beyond a single occasion.
Today, we thank Briana for trusting us with her story.
To every Black mother whose labour often goes unseen: we honour you. 🖤

Through Shorna’s Eyes: Motherhood in Quebec
To be a Black mother in Quebec is to carry many worlds at once.
To nurture, protect, advocate, explain, reassure, and keep going, even on the days when you yourself feel unseen.
Motherhood is a journey…One lived in quiet sacrifices, whispered prayers, fierce love, and a strength that asks for little while giving everything. And perhaps that is why Mother’s Day is never just one day.
It is raising children in a world that may not always reflect their beauty back to them, while making sure they see it in themselves.
Today, we honour Shorna for opening her heart and sharing a piece of her journey with us.
To every Black mother in Quebec: we see you. 🖤

🎉 Happy Social Prescribing Day!
We are excited to share that a new social prescribing pilot is coming to Montreal — and ACDPN is part of it.

We are partnering with other community organizations and local clinics across Montreal to better help you get the kind of support that makes a real difference in your everyday life.

💡 So what is social prescribing?

It helps you find and get the support you need beyond the doctor’s office — like social activities, food banks, housing resources, employment programs, and more.

🤝 And the best part? You don’t have to do it on your own.

We will have someone who can walk alongside you, help you figure things out, and help you get the support that matters to you.

We’ll be sharing more soon.

Thank you to the Trottier Family Foundation for its generous support.
