This year is the first time in almost 25 years that I haven’t returned to Cuba. 🇨🇺
And honestly… my heart feels it.

Looking through these photos from last year — kids skateboarding, 🛹 playing soccer ⚽️ in El Prado, laughing in the middle of hardship — reminds me why I fell in love with the people of Cuba in the first place. Their resilience is unmatched.

But resilience should not mean having to survive without the basics of dignity.
No family should have to struggle daily for electricity, food, or stability.

The world cannot forget the Cuban people.

In these photos is Jorge, our Skateboards For Hope ambassador, standing proudly beside the graffiti wall. For years, he has continued helping the skateboard community however he can — encouraging youth, sharing what little he has, and keeping hope alive through community.

While we haven’t been able to travel there this year, we continue supporting Jorge, families, and local neighborhoods the best way we can.

Sometimes helping isn’t loud.
Sometimes it’s simply refusing to look away.

Cuba, we haven’t forgotten you. 🇨🇺❤️

Montreal doesn’t just watch hockey.
We live it. We scream it from balconies. We wear it in the streets. We bleed bleu-blanc-rouge. 🔥

That energy? That pride? That community?
That’s what Skateboards For Hope is all about too.

A skateboard can change a kid’s direction.
A community can change a kid’s future.

So while Habs Nation is rallying behind the team, we’re rallying behind the next generation — the misfits, the dreamers, the kids grinding through life one push at a time.

One city. One community. One giant comeback story.

GO HABS GO.
And keep rolling forward. 🛹❤️💙

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, grandmas, aunties, chosen moms, skate moms, dog moms, and every woman out there holding it together with coffee, love, duct tape, and pure survival instincts. 💐🛹

Shoutout to the moms who drove us to skateparks, patched ripped jeans, worried every time we dropped in, and still somehow believed in our crazy ideas.

At Skateboards For Hope, we see it everywhere: strong women building communities, encouraging kids, lifting people up, and teaching kindness without even realizing how powerful they are.

Today we celebrate you.
Even the moms who said “you’re NOT bringing that skateboard in the house.” 😂

With love, bruises, stickers, and gratitude.
Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Skateboards For Hope. ❤️

Despite the snowstorm, we showed up. ❄️🛹

Huge shoutout to our incredibly dedicated skaters and amazing parents who walked the entire Saint Patrick’s Parade route with us — snow, wind, cold and all. Nothing was going to stop this crew 💚

The crowd kept cheering “DO A KICKFLIP!” (of course 😄), and while the conditions made it… let’s say extra challenging, Marz still went for it and gave it a few solid attempts. That’s the spirit right there.

We had an absolute blast. Laughing, skating, slipping a little, but mostly just being together and sharing what we love.

Thank you to everyone who came out, supported us, cheered us on, and embraced the chaos of a full-on Montreal snowstorm with us. You made it unforgettable.

This is what community looks like. 💚

Today, on National Girls & Women in Sport Day 💥

At Skateboards for Hope, we celebrate every girl who steps on a board, takes up space, and keeps going—no matter what the world throws her way.

Skateboarding isn’t just a sport.
It’s confidence.
It’s resilience.
It’s community.

From Montreal to Uganda and everywhere in between, we see it every day: when girls skate, they build courage, leadership, and a belief in themselves that lasts far beyond the pavement.

Here’s to the girls who fall, get back up, and push forward.
Here’s to the women who inspire, mentor, and lead by example.

Keep rolling. The world needs your power. 🛹✨

🔥 Community supporting community = real impact 🔥

Huge shoutout to the owners at Skateshop for donating brand-new skateboards AND signature decks 🙌
These beauties are heading to auction to help us raise funds for transportation to Cuba 🇨🇺 and Uganda 🇺🇬 and Brazil 🇨🇬— because skateboarding should travel where hope is needed most.

Revolution 514 isn’t just a skateshop. They’re true community builders, always showing up for projects that bring people together and lift others up. We’re proud to call this a partnership 💙

And at the heart of it all?
🎨 The REDECK ART Project
A movement that brings together students, skaters, parents, teachers, and community members to slow down, get creative, and think beyond ourselves.
We paint. We write messages of hope.
We pay it forward.
We remind each other to be human.

Because sometimes a skateboard is more than a board — it’s a message, a connection, and a spark for change ✨

Stay tuned for the auction 👀
Bid with heart. Ride with purpose.

Starting 2026 on the right foot… and occasionally on four wheels 🛹😄

Today (Sunday!) in Gulu, Skateboards for Hope hosted a major skate jam — DJs bringing the vibes, skaters competing and showing off serious skills, and hundreds of youth jumping on skateboards, many for the very first time.

Goofy fun. Real impact.
This is how we roll into 2026. 🔥
