The Montreal section of the Chemical Institute of Canada aims to create and maintain a strong relationship between the chemists, chemical engineers and chemical technologists who live in the Montreal area. In addition, students, professors and researchers are all welcome to become a part of the CIC Montreal Chapter and receive news of events, activities and to connect with other professionals in the same area.

📣 Register now for our annual symposium!

We are pleased to announce that registration for our annual symposium, taking place on Friday, May 8th in downtown Montréal, is now open!

We are very lucky to have some amazing guest speakers from a wide range of fields this year:

Dr. Chao-Jun (C-J) Li develops sustainable catalytic methods for organic synthesis, with a focus on C–H functionalization, cross-dehydrogenative coupling (CDC), and reactions in green solvents (e.g., water) to improve atom economy and reduce waste.

Dr. FĂ©lix Therrien develops generative machine learning methods (e.g., GFlowNets) for materials and catalyst design, integrating deep learning with physics-based models for applications in clean energy and climate technologies.

Dr. Steve Bourgault studies peptide and protein self-assembly using chemical and biophysical approaches, and applies this to design functional biomolecular nanomaterials.

Registration for the event is FREE and we encourage you to register as soon as possible to secure your spot, as space is limited and tickets are on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Are you a chemistry or chemical engineering grad student looking to share your research and connect with fellow scientists in the Montreal area? Join us at our annual symposium for our student poster session!
This session is open to students at any stage of their degree and is a great chance to network, exchange ideas, and be part of our welcoming scientific community.
Abstracts and posters are welcome in either English or French.
