Y4Y Québec joined other youth community organizations at an engaging Community Health Day in Greenfield Park, Longueuil. Hosted by the Assistance & Referral Centre (ARC), the day included sports, games, and sharing community resources.

Sophie, Y4Y’s Documentarian, Stefan, our Volunteer Coordinator, and Chloe, our Research Assistant, spoke with youth and family while tabling at the event. Thank you to ARC for facilitating a great day full of community-building activities! 🌟

Y4Y Québec s’est joint à d’autres organismes communautaires pour la jeunesse à l’occasion d’une journée de santé communautaire animée, qui s’est déroulée au parc Greenfield, à Longueuil. Organisée par le Assistance & Referral Centre (ARC), cette journée comprenait des activités sportives, des jeux et la mise en commun de ressources communautaires.

Sophie, la documentariste de Y4Y, Stefan, notre coordonnateur des bénévoles, et Chloé, notre adjointe à la recherche, ont discuté avec des jeunes et des familles à leur kiosque lors de l’événement. Last Friday, Y4Y’s Sam Restall and Alex Pettem attended TALQ’s Vitality of the English-Speaking Community gathering. The morning featured a panel discussion with community leaders from across Québec, who shared perspectives on the strengths, achievements, and challenges facing the English-speaking community. The event also included an inaugural keynote address from Kelly Burke, the new Commissioner of Official Languages.

Thank you to TALQ for hosting an engaging morning of discussion and networking, and to Commissioner Burke for sharing her perspectives and taking the time to connect with attendees.

Vendredi dernier, Sam Restall et Alex Pettem de Y4Y ont participé au rassemblement Vitality of the English-Speaking Community organisé par TALQ. La matinée a été marquée par une table ronde réunissant des leaders communautaires de partout au Québec, qui ont partagé leurs points de vue sur les forces, les réalisations et les défis auxquels fait face la communauté d’expression anglaise. L’événement comprenait également une allocution inaugurale de Kelly Burke, nouvelle commissaire aux langues officielles.


Merci à TALQ d’avoir organisé une matinée enrichissante d’échanges et de réseautage, ainsi qu’à la commissaire Burke d’avoir partagé ses perspectives et pris le temps d’échanger avec les personnes participantes.

For Pride Month, Y4Y is focused on supporting LGBTQ+ youth across the province.

This compilation of resources highlights organizations providing support, community, gender-affirming care, and health care for LGBTQ+ youth in Québec. The list includes the Montreal Trans Patient Union, the LGBTQ+ Family Coalition, the Union for Gender Empowerment, the West Island LGBTQ2+ Centre, Project 10, and Jeunesse Lambda.

In 2024-2025, Y4Y collaborated with the Provincial Employment Roundtable (PERT) on a large-scale research project. We consulted over 300 youth from around the province about their experiences finding work in Québec as young English-speakers.

At this webinar, PERT, along with members of the Y4Y team, will be giving you a first look at the project report, which explores the realities of the labour market that English-speakers are facing today.

Are you looking for a resumé-boosting activity this summer?

V2V Discovery Lab provides a cohort of ten volunteers with an immersive and hands-on approach to the world of non-profits. The project centres around two main activities: a team-conducted interview of a Montréal-based non-profit organization about their own volunteer program, and a final in-person event where participants will present what they have learned over the course of the summer.

This project a welcoming, guiding and accommodating experience for participants who have struggled to enter the workforce. Volunteers who successfully complete the program gain a letter of attestation from Y4Y, a LinkedIn shout-out, and a tool kit of professional skills for use in all future endeavours.

Le V2V Discovery Lab offre à un groupe de dix personnes bénévoles une expérience immersive et concrète dans le monde des organismes à but non lucratif. Le projet est centré sur deux principales activités : une entrevue réalisée en équipe avec un organisme montréalais afin de mieux comprendre son propre programme de bénévolat, et un événement final en personne où les participant·e·s présenteront ce qu’iels auront appris au cours de l’été.

Ce projet propose une expérience accueillante, encadrante et adaptée aux personnes qui ont eu de la difficulté à intégrer le marché du travail. Les personnes bénévoles qui complètent le programme reçoivent une lettre d’attestation de Y4Y, une mention sur LinkedIn, ainsi qu’une trousse d’outils professionnels à utiliser dans leurs futurs projets.
