Born in Canada……Born in Quebec…..Born in Montreal!! In the Fall semester of 1992 4 friends from Montreal, 1 from Concordia University, 2 from McGill University and 1 from UdeM, wanted to make the most of their university life by joining a fraternity. During this period the only fraternities available were based on Concordia and McGill, and non of them would let all 4 friends into their pledging pr
ocess due to the fact that they only accepted members from the universities where they were based. Being unsatisfied with this fact and the existing fraternities they decided to create a new kind of organization, a fraternity based on the principles of non-discrimination, brotherhood, entrepreneurship, and excellence. This organization would be open to all the universities of the Greater Montreal Area. To manifest their differences with the other organizations, they decided not to adopt the traditional hierarchal structure (i.e. President, Vice-President, etc.); but to adopt a structure that would reflect our Canadian and Quebec origins (Prime Minister, Minister of internal affairs, etc.). They also decided that this would become an environmental fraternity, making events to promote awareness towards environmental issues and fundraisers to collaborate with our charity of preference “Les Ami-e-s de la Montagne”. With more than 20 years of History, the MU OMICRON ZETA fraternity is well established in Montreal and in Canada, bringing together students from all the Montreal Universities and from different nationalities; the official languages of the fraternity are English and French, but we count members that speak, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Bulgarian, Arab amongst others. The fraternity also benefits from a great Alumni network for the people interested in branching out. As active members we achieve more than friendship, we become BROTHERS. We take part in a wide variety of internal activities as well with the numerous other organizations from different universities. MOZ is open to all students that, as our founding fathers and all members throughout it's history, seek to make the most out their university lifes. THE BROTHERS OF MU OMICRON ZETA
